Theory of Change

The short version lives on the About page.

This is the long one.

1

Nobody knows this exists

300+ alternatives exist, many with proven practical steps. Most people have heard of none of them. It’s a marketing problem. Extractive systems have had coordinated storytelling since Edward Bernays. The wellbeing economy is only getting that now.

We close it with proof-based content. Specific names, checkable numbers, real comparisons. “Driver co-ops pay 80%. Uber pays 50%. Here are three that are hiring.” That sentence does more work than a paragraph of theory.

2

People can’t find each other

People who find out want to join something and don’t know how. The movements themselves are often just as disconnected from each other, working in parallel, duplicating effort, unable to find the others doing the same work down the road.

We close it two ways. We route individuals to movements already running, using a non-linear cycle (below) instead of a one-time call to action. And we weave the movements themselves into a network, so they can see and support each other instead of working in isolation.

3

Underneath it all: who actually owns things

Even with the first two solved, that still doesn’t touch who actually owns and controls the economy.

This is the deepest part. Right now, economic and political decisions are made by people furthest from the consequences of those decisions. Closing that means ownership and decision-making move toward the people closest to the problem instead.

Worker cooperatives, community land trusts, credit unions, and community banks are how ownership actually moves. When workers own the business, the people whose lives depend on the wage decide the wage.

We don’t do this work ourselves. The 300+ movements we connect people to are doing it. We’re the layer that gets people there.

The framework: Connect, Create, Share, Reflect, Play

This is a loop. People enter at any point, move through it at their own pace, and come back around. It runs at the individual, community, and network level at the same time.

Connect

The economy is just a web of agreements about how we meet each other’s needs. When people trust each other and coordinate, things move. When the relationships are bad, no amount of coordination fixes it. This step is about building the relationships first.

Create

One small, specific thing, done on purpose. Not a plan. Not research. One sentence describing what you want to make, then the next actual part of it. Intentional creation beats generic action because it gives you something real to share.

Share

Active gifting: a story, a skill, a resource, handed to someone who can use it. This is the entire growth mechanism. One video shared by someone who didn’t have to share it reached over 5 million people and ended up cited in the Scottish Parliament.

Reflect

What did that actually produce? What does the data say? What did other people learn doing the same thing? This is where the cycle gets smarter instead of just repeating itself blindly.

Play

Whatever restores you, do it properly. Rest. Play. The wellbeing economy starts with your own wellbeing, or the whole thing is just extraction with better branding.

Who this is for

Creators

Storytellers and communicators who want mainstream reach for this work. You bring your voice and your audience. We bring the frameworks for what actually spreads, and a coordinated network so your reach compounds instead of working alone.

Builders

Anyone running something, from a local circle to an established cooperative. We translate what you do into language anyone understands, connect you to the wider network, and route newcomers your way.

Newcomers

People who want to start or join something and don’t know where to begin. This is the on-ramp. You don’t need to understand the whole system first. You need one step.

What we’ve proven so far

One video reached over 5 million people and was cited by MSPs during the debate on Scotland’s Community Wealth Building Bill. It passed 103-0. The world’s first national legislation of its kind.

That’s proof of demand. Here’s proof of conversion: a single partnership handed us 200+ people a day asking what they could actually do and how to start. That’s exactly what we’re building the pipeline to handle.
